Honda Civic Type R claims yet another racetrack record

Honda is already teasing us with the next-gen Civic Type R, but it doesn’t prevent the current generation from setting one record after another all over the world. The latest instance was on the Bend Motorsport Park Raceway in Australia mere hours ago.

Tony D’Alberto piloted a standard Civic Type R for his first attempt and then a Limited Edition Type R for the second run. The lap time was rather impressive at 2:13.251 the first time around and improved to 2:12.26 with the Special Edition thanks to its lower weight, sticky tires and tweaked suspension. The lap is 4.95 km (3.08 mi) long.

The latest Civic Type R has standing records on the Hungaroring, Estoril, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, and Magny-Cours.
