Honda’s latest teaser is once again dedicated to the next-gen Civic Type R, which was expected to make debut in June but never did. The wait should be over soon, but in the meantime, let us have a look.
The car shown is a camouflaged prototype running pre-production tests on the highway competition track in Troy, USA. It has earlier set a record at the Suzuka Raceway in Japan and has been repeatedly spotted on the Nürburgring, where it might have attempted to improve upon the time of the current FWD champion – the Renault Megane RS Trophy-R.
Rumors suggest that the Civic Type R may become Honda’s last non-electrified sports car. It is expected to come equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine rated above 300 metric horsepower. Some sources suggest it will have ‘up to 316 PS’ (312 hp / 232 kW) in conjunction with a manual transmission. Then again, we will only for sure when we hear from Honda.
