The next generation of the Honda Civic Type R first showed up last year, but it was still a production-close prototype back then. Now, the lengthy teaser campaign seems finally over.
The latest and last teaser vid posted by Honda claims that the next-gen Civic Type R will make its debut on next Wednesday, July 20. Some of us remember the date as the anniversary of the Moon landing by Apollo-11. Whether the manufacturer will play upon this in some way or not remains to be seen.
It probably won’t liken the launch of a performance car with the humanity’s first steps on a different celestial body, but one thing is almost guaranteed: the new Type R will almost definitely be the last ICE-powered Civic before electrification reigns the car world.
