Honda Japan has mistakenly posted the first disguise-free image of the new Civic Type R on its website. The photo was quickly pulled, but not before users made copies.
You can now have a close look at the radiator grille with a mesh pattern, the headlights and the bulkier-than-usual front bumper outfitted with vertical inserts and an air splitter of sorts.
Then there are new wheels, a vent in the hood. a black rear wing and black side sill overlays. All of the above works together to lend the Civic a sportier overall aesthetic. It is an open question whether the car gets any hardware upgrades, too. Rumors claim the new Type R might ship with a redesigned turbocharged four-pot rated above 300 horsepower (225 kilowatts).
