As it turns out, the next-gen Civic hot hatch hits the asphalt with 10 more horsepower and extra 34 Newton-meters (25 lb-ft) compared to the old one. The peak torque is now attained at 3,500 RPM. This is all the difference, it seems.
If you never saw a car being prepped to a dyno test properly, the footage can be educational. As you can see, the team begins by detaching the front wheels (they are the driven wheels in the latest CTR) and installing a special assembly that spins the wheels. They then fire up the engine and record the results of multiple runs to come up with a balanced average.
