Owners of the Honda Civic Type R performance hatchback may now choose to upgrade it for even more speed and power – and it isn’t going to cost all that much, either. The new tuning kit offered by Japanese car customization house Hondamata costs as little as U.S. $695.
More specifically, the stock engine of the Honda Civic Type R can produce up to 310 hp (231 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb·ft) of torque. The new kit by Hondamata takes it up another 33 hp (25 kW) and 52 Nm (38 lb·ft) when using regular (91 RON) gasoline. Pour in somewhat more expensive 93 RON instead, and you’ve got a surplus 40 hp (30 kW) and 93 Nm (68.5 lb·ft).
Regrettably, Hondamata provided no acceleration dynamics data on their tuning kit.
