Honda Civic sets a new high at Silverstone

The Honda Civic Type R continues its winning streak on racetracks all over the world with a recent victory at the British Silverstone Circuit.

Piloted by Matt Neel, the car has set a new high score of 2:31.3 in the Front-Driven Production Cars category. After finishing the track, the driver told the reporters he felt that the car was really stable at high speeds and when entering into curves. The enhanced dynamics could be attributed to the improved body kit and suspension of the vehicle.

Prior to its Silverstone run, this particular Honda Civic Type R has set new records at the racetracks of Magny-Cours (France), Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), and Nürburgring (Germany). Its next challenges will be Estoril (Portugal) and Hungaroring (Hungary), where it will be piloted by Jenson Button and Tiago Monteiro, respectively.

The engine compartment of the “hot hatch” conceals a turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of over 300 hp / 225 kW, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.
