The Japanese company
introduced a prototype of a hybrid fifth-generation Honda CR-V crossover for
Europe. It is the first electric car brand for the European market.
Hybrid power unit of the car
will consist of a petrol four-cylinder unit with volume of 2,0 liters, which
works on the Atkinson cycle, two electric motors and a one-speed transmission
(it will replace the usual variator).
The powerplant of the hybrid
CR-V Hybrid crossover will be able to operate in one of the three modes
provided: on the internal combustion engine (the electric motor will
automatically turn on with sudden acceleration), on an electric motor, or in a
combined cycle. The electronics will select the modes themselves depending on
the traffic conditions.
In Europe, the fifth
generation Honda CR-V of will also be offered with a gasoline 1.5-liter turbo
engine, which will work together with a six-speed manual transmission or a
stepless transmission.
The Public presentation of
the novelty will be held at the motor show in Frankfurt next week.
