The 2020 Honda CR-V crossover has premiered in the USA. The choice of location is far from coincidental: first, the model is extremely popular on the North American market. Second, this is where the latest generation of the CR-V premiered several years ago.
The newcomer flaunts restyled bumpers, headlights and wheels. In addition to this, the U.S. range expands to include the CR-V Hybrid, which has been on sale in Europe for some time now. The hybrid version has a handful of buttons in place of the gear selector. It draws 215 hp (160 kW) of power from a two-liter gas engine and two electric motors. No acceleration times or specific fuel efficiency numbers are being reported, but the company claims the hybrid CR-V should be 1.5 times as efficient as its ICE counterpart. This should mean approximately 5.6 liters of gasoline per 100 km (42 miles per gallon in the USA).
U.S. customers who would not want a hybrid will be left with the only other option: a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine rated at 193 hp (144 kW). The transmission type is CVT, and you can choose FWD or AWD.
Sales of the ICE version will start later this fall, with the hybrid CR-V arriving in early 2020.
