Honda teases a camper for family recreation

The Honda Base Station accommodates a family of four and is lightweight enough to be towed by an EV. The company claims it’s also easy enough even for inexperienced drivers to tow to destination and back.

Precise size and weight measurements remain to be announced, as the whole thing is still technically considered a concept. It features a well-rounded body with an impressively large greenhouse, and Honda says you can tow it with a compact CUV like the latest CR-V.

A tailgate at the back lifts up for interior access. When stationary, the roof can be raised to 213 cm (83.2 inches) of ceiling height. Interior 3D renderings are pending, but the company mentions a large bed for two adults, a bunk bed for two children, solar panels on the roof and an air conditioner under standard equipment. A kitchenette and a shower are included as well, both accessible from outside the trailer. It sounds like cooking meals can be less than pleasant in bad weather, but there’s always a price to pay for compactness.

Concept or not, Honda promises to make the Base Station available for purchase in a few months. All prices are TBA.
