Honda preparing another soft-roader for Europe

Motor1 reports that a new crossover SUV named ZR-V is coming to Europe soon, set to arrive next year and slot in between the HR-V and CR-V.

The automaker has only recently introduced a ZR-V model in China, which was essentially a slightly retouched variant of the HR-V for the USA (see video). The HR-V for Europe is shaping up to be quite different, though. It will probably be based on the Chinese ZR-V, but come with numerous design adaptations for Old World countries.

While the HR-V is a comparably modest hybrid CUV in Europe, the ZR-V is expected to be a larger and more powerful car than that. It might go on sale with the same powertrain as the Civic e:HEV, which makes 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 315 Nm (232 lb-ft) of torque. The ZR-V for China will reportedly make do with a single 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and no other options.
