Carwow has put a standard Porsche 918 Spyder into a drag race against an extremely tuned Honda Integra Type R. Do you think having five times the power will help the Japanese coupe outrace a hypercar?
But let’s consider the numbers first. The Spider draws its power from a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 mill assisted by two electric motors. The combined output amounts to 887 PS (875 hp / 652 kW) and 1,280 Nm (944 lb-ft) of torque. All four wheels are driven.
In turn, the Integra makes do with four cylinders and two liters of displacement, but an extreme turbocharger drives it from its stock 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW) to 922 PS (909 hp / 678 kW) at the wheels, implying around 1,000 horsepower at the crank. It is an AWD car, too.
