This week has brought us two interesting bits of news concerning Honda and its Traffic Jam Pilot feature. First, the government of the country rewarded the automaker for coming up with the successful self-driving tech; second, the company will be taking it to Level 3 in the coming months.
Newer Hondas will be able to drive themselves on busy urban streets soon, properly reading and reacting to most signs and road markings. Drives will still be obligated to keep hands on the steering wheel. The Japan-spec Honda Legend sedan will be the first model to benefit from the Traffic Jam Pilot, and the company promises to deliver the feature no later than March 2021.
On its domestic market, the Legend is an electrified AWD sedan rated at 382 PS (377 hp / 281 kW).
