Italdesign’s revised Honda NSX: first teaser vid

The famous Italian coachbuilder has shared a short video clip dedicated to its upcoming Honda NSX revival – at least, that’s what it looks like. The premiere date and the details are still being kept secret, so let’s take a look while we wait.

The rear end of the car with LED brake lights spanning its entire width in a modern fashion can be seen briefly. The LED frame almost coincides with the circumference of the NSX tail-end, so it looks like an overhaul of the original car. A closer look also reveals a roof-mounted air scoop, something that neither the Honda NSX nor its Acura namesake ever had from the factory.

One popular theory is that Italdesign simply plans to refresh the exterior and the cabin of the famous supercar from the 1990s, leaving its powertrain and suspension largely untouched. Then again, it could be a full-blown restomod or even something entirely different with an NSX-like exterior but all-new tech. Since the company called it a “tribute” when it posted the first teaser image, we suspect it could be running on the chassis of a completely different car.
