The Japanese car manufacturer Honda said it was working on a brand-new crossover concept which, nonetheless, will be officially known as the Honda Passport. An SUV with the exact same name was Honda’s first off-road vehicle, was closely based on the Isuzu Rodeo and used to be produced from 1994 through 2002.
The new five-seat crossover Honda Passport will be generally built on the same chassis currently used for the Pilot, but 150 mm (6”) shorter. The company may introduce the vehicle during the LA Auto Show in November 2018.
It is expected that the new Honda Passport will be assembled in Alabama where the current versions of Honda Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey are being mass-produced now. Whether it ever gets released outside of the United States is still uncertain.
