Honda Pilot TrailSport crops up on another official teaser pic

Honda has shared one more image of the next-gen Pilot SUV expected to debut later this fall. The pic shows the crew that will drive the pre-production vehicle along the Rebelle Rally course spanning over 2,400 kilometers (1,500 miles).

The Pilot that will hit the track will be a TrailSport spec sporting a slightly different front bumper, radiator grille and headlights. You can also catch a glimpse of the wheels and the overall outlines, but the body wears camo styled like a racing livery. According to Honda, it is supposed to remind us of 'Californian landscapes, mountains and the blue sky', as well as 'adventure.'

Compared to the standard spec, the TrailSport benefits from a rugged body kit, an impressive amount of ground clearance and sticky tires. It also takes advantage of tweaked AWD settings.

The Rebelle Rally will begin tomorrow, October 6, 2022. The route will take the participants along the deserts of the U.S. Southwest. The Honda Pilot crew will be represented by test engineers Liz Long and Hillary Tate (it’s an all-female race). The SUV will make do without any racing-friendly mods, the company claims.

In all likelihood, we will be seeing the next-gen Pilot debut on official terms shortly after the rally. Honda said before it would premiere this fall. As far as we know, the off-roader will share the platform with the Acura MDX and come equipped with the same 3.0-liter V6 churning out 294 PS (290 hp / 216 kW).
