Honda Pilot sprouts a Black Edition

Honda has brought its 2025 Pilot SUV update to North America. Since the fourth generation debuted in late 2022, there was no call for a major redesign. As such, the Pilot wound up with a new top trim called Black Edition (see photos 1–3 below) and a price bump.

Compared to stock, the darkened crossover rides on 20-inch black wheels and has matching side mirror covers, radiator grille, front bumper accents, moldings and roof rails. It also flaunts Black Edition badges on the grille and the tailgate.

Seats wrapped in perforated leather with red accents are also exclusive to this trim. More red color can be found on the steering wheel, the dashboard and the door panels. Red ambient lighting sets the mood, and more Black Edition emblems can be found on the seat headrests and floor mats. This trim level is available exclusively with AWD and costs from $55,675 before any delivery fees.

The entry-level Pilot LX trim is gone from the list for good, leaving Sport as the most affordable option. As a result, the 2025 Pilot FWD costs from $41,295 (up from $38,485). Four driven wheels come in at $2,100 extra.

The rugged Pilot TrailSport edition (shown in the rest of the gallery and the video here) has also been updated for the new model year. It features stainless-steel skid plates, more ground clearance, tweaked suspension and AWD in all trims. The starting price is at $50,495.

All new Honda Pilot models utilize the same V6 rated at 289 PS (285 hp / 213 kW) im tandem with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The assembly is taking place in Alabama right now, with the first examples already bound for dealerships.
