Honda teases a concept car calling it ‘a Prelude’

Honda has brought a design study to the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo that CEO Toshihiro Mibe called a ‘prelude’ to the company’s future production cars.

The details are scarce, but the vehicle looks almost ready for production. It has a reserved exterior design in line with the marque’s other recent cars, normal side mirrors instead of cameras and 20-inch wheels with blue brake calipers showing through the spokes. The front bumper has a matching thin blue accent in the middle. According to Carscoops quoting representatives of the company, the car is a hybrid. Tinted windows all around suggest that the cabin is not finished yet.

Speaking during the unveiling, Toshihiro Mibe said some cars the company was designing for its future EV lineup would deliver ‘genuine driving enjoyment.’ Work on them is already underway, with the latest concept only serving as a further statement of intent.
