If you happen to be a Honda supporter and need a minivan, chances are the Odyssey will be your only consideration. Customers in Japan enjoy a much wider variety of options, including the N-Box, N-Van, Freed, Odyssey JDM, and Step WGN. The latter has just been updated for the new production year.
In the new generation, the Step WGN no longer has its trademark tailgate, which you could formerly split into two doors and swing them open – or click them together and swing up as a single tailgate. The new door cannot be split and only swings upwards.
Interior is where things get interesting. There is plenty of free space and headroom, and the dashboard imitates those of the latest HR-V and Civic models. A large display towers above the center console, and there is a new shelf right above the glove compartment.
Drivetrain parameters remain to be announced, but people say both electrified and traditional options will be available.
