Carnewschina has published new photos of the next-gen Hongqi L7 limo, a car designed for high-ranking CCP officials. The same limo was caught on camera last year wrapped in camo, but the latest photos show it without any disguise.
There is still no official information about the car. Its exterior seems to combine multiple styles. The front is boxy and resembles that of the Aurus Senat a bit. A stylized red flag – the automaker’s mascot – can be seen on the hood. The brand name ‘Hongqi’ literally means ‘red banner’.
In contrast, the rear end is well-rounded with a tall roofline typical for limos and a long rear door. The wheels with the old logo on the hubcaps look rather out of place here.
Cabin shots haven’t been made yet, and we know nothing about the powertrain. The old generation – which is over a decade old by now – comes with a six-liter naturally aspirated V12 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Rumor has it the new generation will trade the gas-hungry twelve-cylinder for a modern 4.0-liter V8.
