Neta teases its first wagon EV

China-based EV maker Hozon Auto is getting ready to expand its Neta lineup with a new family car so far only known by its internal designation: EP41. Hozon Auto CEO Zhang Yong has just posted its first image on Weibo.

The vehicle seen here has a five-door estate body, but the media in China insist on calling it a Shooting Brake instead of a wagon. According to CnEVPost, its main competitors will be the Nio ET5 Touring and the Zeekr 001.

The EP41 will be Hozon’s first electric car to take advantage of an innovative architecture known as the Neta Shanhai 2.0. It comes with numerous hardware and software improvements over version 1.0 used in the company’s Neta S sedan (you will find it in the video here and in the gallery past image #3).

According to Hozon Auto execs, the wagon should go on pre-sale around the same dates that this year’s Beijing Auto Expo is scheduled for – from April 25 to May 4. The first actual deliveries will not be made until mid-year, though.
