Neta S Hunting Edition invites on an adventure

Neta, a Chinese premium vehicle marque founded by Hozon Auto, has posted some images of its next production model – the Neta S. It looks a bit like a crossbreed of an estate and a Shooting Brake, and is slated to go on sale later this month.

Sized 4,980 x 1,980 x 1,480 millimeters large with 2,980 mm of wheelbase, the family hauler is pretty much identical to its existing sedan counterpart (see video). Despite only having 133 mm (4.4 inches) of ground clearance, it is being marketed as a vehicle for travel. Some photos even depict it with a tent on the roof or a queen’s bed in the back of the cabin.

The trunk size defaults to 593 liters (a touch under 21 cubic feet), but you can fold down the seats to get 1,295 l (45.7 cu. ft.). A 6.5-liter mini-fridge and a 17.6-inch infotainment display are supposedly parts of the standard spec, but this needs confirmation.

The wagon will hit the showrooms in China under the name “Hunting Edition” and will offer two powertrains to choose between. One is a hybrid composed of a 95-PS (94-hp / 70-kW) petrol engine and a 272-PS (268-hp / 200-kW) electric motor. It gets up to 185 km (115 miles) of range in fully electric mode.

The other one is a battery-electric version obtainable with just one 272-PS motor mentioned above or two motors rated at 504 PS (497 hp / 371 kW) together. The Neta S Hunting Edition EV can reach a top speed of 185 km/h (115 mph), but the range remains to be announced.
