Car spotters have nabbed a Human Horizons HiPhi Z prototype testing on the public roads in China. Here’s what the new model looks like.
The test vehicle from the young Chinese manufacturer still wears full-body camo topped by a pair of fake headlights, so discerning details can be hard. Even so, the large spoiler in the back along with the missing rear window lend the prototype a rather futuristic appearance. It looks like the final production version may end up looking much like the original concept from last year (see video).
Interior highlights include sports seats with integrated headrests and white leather trim. A minimalistic center console houses a box, a cupholder and a drive mode selector. The dashboard has two displays on it: a small gauge cluster and a large vertical infotainment display with a touchscreen for easy access to various in-car functions.
Other than that, the photos show a large glass sunroof and aerodynamic 22-inch wheels. The car still uses traditional side mirrors instead of video cameras.
All technical details remain to be revealed. The HiPhi Z looks related to the HiPhi X model, which is already in production. The latter is available in a single-motor spec rated at 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) and a dual-motor one good for 598 PS (590 hp / 440 kW). A 97-kWh traction battery grants it up to 500 kilometers (310 miles) of range according to the outdated NEDC standard.
