Mil-Spec Automotive has recently turned a Hummer H1 into a brutal-looking SUV with virtually limitless off-road capabilities.
The Hummer H1 is a ‘civilian’ (i.e., street-legal) modification of its famous military parent. In creating the H1, the manufacturer primarily aimed to make it as capable of traversing cross-country as possible. One may wonder whether any further improvement could be done.
Apparently, the MSA car tuning team didn’t hesitate much before rising to the challenge. They guys designed and built a unique 6.6-liter, eight-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine capable of 500 hp (373 kW) and north of 1,350 Nm (996 lb·ft) of torque. They also equipped it with a completely different kind of suspension that turned out to be leagues ahead of the stock one in terms of overall road performance.
The body of the new Hummer H1 now sports a combination textured/glossy black coating. Its interior takes advantage of multiple ornamental details hand-crafted by MSA designers, some made of aircraft-grade aluminum. On the whole, the passenger space does now look and feel more comfortable than before.
MSA remained silent on the project costs.
