This Mil-Spec Automotive M1-R is a one-off job, but you can order your own

Mil-Spec Automotive has released quite a few luxurious and powerful Hummer H1 conversions over the years, and yet the latest M1-R tops them all in terms of sheer scope of improvements.

The car started its life as a regular H1 model. It received a brand-new cabin with a freshly designed machined driver’s cockpit, a wide and flat dashboard, a different center console, steering wheel and four seats. Handy features include an electronic gear indicator, an electronic parking brake, a two-zone HVAC system, and an audio set. Don’t worry about the Spartan look of the interior: clients can specify carpet of artificial suede trimming for all the exposed bits.

Powering the restomod is a mighty 6.6-liter diesel V8 rated at 500 hp (373 kW) and 1,356 Nm (1,000 lb-ft) of torque. Particularly demanding clients may specify a high-end engine capable of more than 800 hp (596 kW) and 1,627 Nm (1,200 lb-ft). An Allison 1000 six-speed manual gearbox delivers the momentum to the wheels, Rod Hall racing-grade suspension enables free driving across all kinds of terrain, and six-piston Wilwood brakes (optional) guarantee adequate deceleration when needed.

Moving on to the prices, the Mil-Spec Hummer M1-R is unique and ticks all the possible boxes, so it should come as no surprise that it costs U.S. $412,000. Speccing your own project like this is possible starting from $299,500. The company is already collecting pre-orders, so make sure to get yours in if you are interested.
