GAC-owned brand Hycan has launched its first production vehicle in China – an all-electric minivan called the V09. It has seven seats and costs from 320,000 to 460,000 Yuan depending on the spec (U.S. $44,000–64,000). Car News China believes the company bets big on this particular model becoming a bestseller.
The car originally debuted as ‘Concept-M’ at the Guangzhou Motor Show in late 2022. It ran on the H-GEA platform of the A06 sedan and was 5,215 mm (203.7 inches) long with 3,170 mm (123.8 inches) between the axles. The final production version has the same dimensions and comes in four colors to choose from – while, grey, black and blue.
The interior has a 2+2+3 seat layout and houses three displays on the dash: a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch head unit and a 12.3-inch front passenger’s display. A 22-speaker audio system, two wireless phone chargers and a fridge are included in the spec.
Buyers can opt for nearly three dozen driving assist features that use 24 sensors around the MPV and twin Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 CPUs to assess the situation. A LiDAR scanning 300 meters ahead is a paid option.
The Hycan V09 relies on a single electric motor with 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW) to drive the front wheels. It uses an 800-volt architecture to replenish 200 km (124 miles) worth of battery charge in just five minutes. When full, it can cover around 750 km (466 miles) before charging becomes necessary again.
