Hyundai could be ready to release its first Genesis SUV

South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has released a video telling a story about its electronic driver aids. Many users seem to believe, however, that the video also features a 3D model of the first SUV the company will eventually be releasing under its sub-brand named Genesis.

The virtual car looks almost identical to the Genesis GV80 Concept that debuted at the New York Motor Show last year. The side panels and the side mirrors are pretty much the only differences.

An earlier rumor said the first mass-produced Genesis SUV might hit the market in 2019 armed with a 3.5-liter V6 engine or a hybrid drivetrain. Its rumored competitors were the Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW X5.

The latest vehicle released by Genesis to date is the facelifted version of its G90 flagship sedan. It features a redesigned radiator grille, revised air intakes and somewhat different lighting.

Just like its predecessor, the G90 comes with a choice among a 5.0L engine rated at 409 hp (305 kW), a 3.3L twin-turbo capable of 370 hp (276 kW) and a naturally aspirated 3.8L V6 with 309 hp (230 kW).
