Michael J. O'Brien. The president of product planning
for the North American division of Hyundai Motor Company, reported to Reuters
about the start of production of a new pickup for the United States market that
will appear next year.
The novelty will be built in the style of the Santa
Cruz concept introduced in 2015 and, according to the company's idea, will
attract young buyers. The concept car was equipped with a two-liter turbodiesel
engine with 190 horsepower and 406 Nm of torque. What kind of power unit will
be under the hood of the serial pickup - is still in doubt.
In addition, Michael Jay O'Brien said that until 2020
in the model line of the South Korean brand will appear three completely new or
updated crossovers. It is the machines of this segment that the company's
management sees prospects for future development, as consumer demand for
pickups and crossovers continues to grow.
