Korean 2019 Hyundai Venue differs slightly from its U.S. counterpart

The all-new compact crossover SUV Hyundai Venue was introduced in the USA and India this spring. The United States won’t get it until this fall, but sales in India have been going great so far. A couple days ago, the South Korean automotive giant introduced the same model on the domestic market.

The Korean variant of the SUV is identical to the U.S. version in most aspects, but there are still notable differences. For one, there is a top trim version called Flux, which sports a different radiator grille, 17-inch wheels, and a contrast-rich color scheme. The Hyundai Venue Flux ships with a preinstalled reversing camera, heated steering wheel, panoramic glass roof and LED lighting. Another curious feature comes in the form of an infrared knee-heater (sic!) built into the lower part of the wheel and supposed to keep the driver’s legs comfortably warm in cold weather. Finally, there is a feature called Multi Traction Control, which enables you to specify whether the anti-skid system should be active and how it should perform.

The most basic trim includes pressed wheels, an entry-level audio system, a simple air conditioner, an ESP and as many as six airbags. The Modern trim takes advantage of 15-inch alloy wheels and an up-to-date multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen display.

Just like its U.S. sibling, the South Korean crossover will ship with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 123 horsepower (92 kilowatts), which you can obtain with a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. Prices begin at the equivalent of U.S. $12,500.
