SangYup Lee, Hyundai Senior Vice President and Design Director, said that the Hyundai electric car lineup for the next year consisted of three models. We’ve heard about the Prophecy Concept and the 45 Concept; but what’s the third one?
According to Mr. Lee, the battery car will be a “space concept”, “a big one”. It will debut in 2021, after the production start of the other two EVs.
This reminds us strongly about Hyundai’s recent cooperation with the startup company Canoo, which was formally concluded in February 2020 and concerned a shuttle bus concept shown in the gallery and the video here.
As for the Hyundai 45 Concept, it is a crossover hatchback rumored to be called Pony in its production version. If (or when) it reaches the market, it will likely be marketed above the Kona Electric crossover.
In turn, the Prophecy is coming to replace the current Ioniq Electric hatchback. There will be certain design traits that will thematically unite the three electric cars – maybe Pixel LEDs, maybe something else.
