The South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai voiced its plans to showcase its latest Kona compact SUV during the International Car show in Los Angeles, USA next week. The announcement came with a new official photo of the car.
According to the available official information, the new Kona gets leather-draped interior, front seats with heating and ventilation, automatic climate control, a wireless charger for gadgets, and a sensor-enabled media center. There is no further data concerning the North American version of Kona at the moment; the European version is known to come with a variety of engines one of which is a one-liter, three-cylinder gas motor.
Car experts believe the US version is likely to be shipped with a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with roughly 177 horsepower and 265 Nm torque. If true, this would mean acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in 7.9 seconds and a maximum speed of approximately 204 km/h (127 mph).
