All Hyundai electric cars will henceforth be marketed and sold under the new brand name “Ioniq”. Release plans for the next few years include such models as Ioniq 5, 6 and 7, where even numbers stand for light passenger cars and odd numbers for SUVs and crossovers.
The model trio will arrive based on the existing Hyundai concept cars. The 45 EV Concept shown in the video and gallery here will provide the basis for the Ioniq 5, the Prophecy four-door sedan will become Ioniq 6, and the model number 7 will be a standalone full-size SUV.
According to the manufacturer, the entire Ioniq range will utilize the E-GMP platform and offer long range, spacious interiors, ergonomic controls and rapid charging.
