Hyundai, Kia & Genesis announce one e-SUV each for 2021

Hyundai Motor Group has revealed its plans for this year, pointing out that all three of its subordinate car brands will launch an electric crossover SUV in the coming months.

There will be an SUV from Genesis, another one from KIA, and the Ioniq 5 from Hyundai. The latter will come based on the Hyundai 45 Concept. The trio will utilize a platform known as the E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and offer 500+ kilometers (310 miles) of range. Five minutes of charging will translate into another 100 km (62 miles) of driving.

The corporation expects to have launched 25 E-GMP based EVs by the year 2025, and to produce over 1,000,000 units annually. In addition to this, Hyundai Motor Group plans to continue developing the relevant infrastructure, opening two dozen new high-power charging stations in South Korea in 2021.
