Hyundai Pony Heritage Concept reminds us of the mid-1970s

The Hyundai MotorStudio brand space in Busan, South Korea will soon launch an expo featuring the automaker’s various installations and design studies. One of the highlights comes in the form of Pony Heritage, a one-off concept based on the iconic Pony hatchback the company made back in 1975.

Hyundai seems fascinated with the idea of producing modern cars with vintage looks. Its Ioniq 5 model that debuted in February had distinct Pony styling, and so does the newly revealed study. The Pony Heritage is a restored Pony hatchback that has been stripped down to the last screw and pieced back together with the assistance of modern tech. Among other things, it has LED lighting all around and video cameras instead of mirrors.

Powertrain specs remain undisclosed. Hyundai has confirmed that there were no production plans.
