The South Korean car maker Hyundai Motor Company has revealed all data regarding its latest plug-in hybrid vehicle, the Hyundai Ioniq PHEV. With a base price tag of U.S. $24,950, the new compact five-door hatchback should assume a place between Ioniq Hybrid and Ioniq Electric.
Driven by a 1.6-liter, 106-horsepower gasoline engine and a single 60-horpower electric motor, the new 2018 Hyundai Ioniq PHEV is going to provide serious competition to the latest Toyota Prius and Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid. Thanks to the application of some state-of-the-art battery tech, the newcomer can travel as far as 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) before discharge.
The exterior of the 2018 Hyundai Ionic PHEV isn’t exactly big news, since it looks almost identical to those of the Ioniq Hybrid and the Ioniq Electric. If one is compelled to search for novelty, there are new nice-looking 16-inch alloy wheels and a charging port to tell it from its predecessors.
