Hyundai introduces Supernal, its aerial EV brand

Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled Supernal, a marque that will deal with the development of innovative aircrafts. The first one should take to the skies in seven years’ time.

The South Korean automotive corporation expects to start making commercial flights in 2028 and then expand production thanks to a growing market.

Passengers will be able to plan their trips using a mobile app similar to those adopted by modern car-sharing services. The route can look like this: you transfer from a car or a train to an electric VTOL, fly to your destination, and take an electric scooter to your destination.

Supernal is but one innovative enterprise out of half a hundred in the Hyundai Motor Group. The name first sounded at the CES 2020, and the company is currently busy designing its first eVTOL for 4-5 passengers. Certificates and permissions for this kind of transport should be obtained in the USA in 2024. Aside from this, the company plans to develop the AAM industry and its required infrastructure.
