Hyundai has come to the motor show in Busan, South Korea with a design study named HDC-2 Grandmaster. The vehicle introduces Hyundai’s new artistic direction called “Sensual Sportiness” and might eventually become the source of inspiration for a new flagship SUV model.
The exterior of the car is dominated by an enormous chrome-accentuated radiator grille that appears to flow over onto the headlights. Both front and rear lights are locked in stylish vertical strips.
While the vehicle is a pure design study and won’t ever be released, it may eventually serve as a design example for a few new models. As a matter of fact, car photographers have repeatedly spotted an unannounced Hyundai SUV prototype running road tests lately, which means that we’re looking forward to a premiere.
This upcoming SUV is likely going to be a large seven-seat model, taller and more expensive than the Grand Santa Fe.
Its name remains unknown, but Hyundai applied for the brand name “Palisade” a short while ago, so that might as well be it.
