Hyundai Bayon subcompact breaks cover in Europe

Hyundai has unveiled the Bayon, its smallest car for Europe so far. Based on the i20 platform, the mini-hatchback has its own styling cues with the front fascia and slim DRLs reminiscent of the Kona and other SUVs.

Depending on the wheel type chosen, the road clearance may vary between 165 and 183 mm (6.44 – 7.15 inches). The cabin is nearly identical to that of the i20 including the 10.25-inch digital dashboard and the infotainment display spanning 8 or 10.25 inches across. A wireless charger and a contrast-rich trim scheme are also included.

The Bayon series comes powered by the same engine duo as the i20, namely a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 84 PS (83 hp / 62 kW) and a 1.0-liter turbo three-pot available in 100 and 120 PS (99–118 hp / 74–88 kW) variants.
