Hyundai facelifts its smallest CUV for Europe

Hyundai has unveiled the refreshed Bayon baby crossover originally introduced in 2021 (see video). It received an up-to-date appearance in line with the company’s current design language and more interior tech, plus come driving aids.

The exterior now looks boxier and more aggressive than before thanks to revised bumpers and front grille. The two-tiered headlights are still there, but the DRLs running along the hood look slimmer and have a LED stripe connecting them. New wheels sized up to 17 inches are available, and the exterior finish palette has four new options in it.

Inside, the head unit in the base trim now measures 10.25 inches large instead of 8, but the digital dashboard is capped at 4.2 inches of diagonal size. If you would like a larger 10.25-inch dash screen, you will have to choose a higher trim level.

Over-the-air updates are now supported, and paying extra gets you a Bose audio system comprising eight speakers and a subwoofer. The ambient lighting system trades outdated bulbs for LEDs.

In terms of driving assists, the refresh brings along lane control and an emergency brake system that can recognize and account for pedestrians, cyclists and oncoming vehicles. Driver’s drowsiness alert and blind spot monitoring are also included, and the car can be set to apply the brakes automatically if it detects a dangerous situation.

Hyundia has yet to announce the sales start date.
