Hyundai introduced the new iteration of its Creta crossover SUV in India last month, but the full information was missing – until now.
As it stands, the car will ship with three engines to choose among. The first one is a 1.5-liter diesel good for 115 hp (86 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft), which can be hooked onto a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Another one is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated unit capable of 115 hp (86 kW) and 144 Nm (106 lb-ft) of torque, available with six-speed manual and IVT. The last one is a 1.4-liter turbo mill rated at 140 hp (104 kW) and 242 Nm (178 lb-ft), only obtainable with a 7-speed DCT.
The SUV measures 4.3 meters long (14.11 feet), 1,790 mm (5.87 ft.) wide and 1,635 mm (5.36 ft.) tall with 2,610 mm (8.56 ft.) between the axles. You can choose between 16 and 17 inches for wheel size.
There are five trim levels, and the base one comes with a couple of airbags, an air conditioner, a glove compartment with a cooling function, a remotely controlled central lock, LED brake lights, tire pressure control, driver’s seat height adjustment, power windows, power mirrors, and an automatic tailgate.
The next trim level adds an infotainment system with Bluetooth support, an 8-inch touch-enabled display, and voice command recognition. It also introduces a six-channel Arkamys audio set.
The higher-end Creta trims pack such niceties as a second-row center armrest with cup holders, a panoramic glass roof, and a paddle shifter (gasoline versions only).
The flagship spec offers six airbags, leather cabin finish, Bose audio, a reversing camera, remote engine launch, and more.
