Hyundai launches Creta Sport facelift in Brazil

The original Hyundai Creta crossover/SUV entered the market in Brazil two years ago. It received a performance variant a year later, titled Creta Sport. The latter has now undergone a minor mid-generational refresh.

There is not much on the outside of the vehicle to look at, except for a glossy black band on the trunk door where a small chromed bar used to be.

The facelifted Hyundai Creta Sport series features readjusted suspension. It is worth noting that its predecessor had 100% stock suspension.

The interior of the vehicle is now dominated by ad advanced infotainment system with a digital TV receiver. The image is only shown on the display during stops and automatically disappears whenever the car moves, but the sound remains on. Hyundai HB20 hatchback and sedan models already have the same feature.

The engine palette remains intact. The new Hyundai Creta Sport still ships with a 2.0-liter gasoline/ethanol engine capable of between 156 and 166 hp (116 – 124 kW). There is also a smaller 1.6-liter engine rated at 123 – 130 hp (92 – 97 kW). transmission choices include manual and 6-speed automatic.

A new Hyundai Creta Sport costs at least U.S. $25,000, which is full $5,000 above the old one.
