Hyundai Elantra N Line confirmed, specs still unknown

Hyundai has confirmed that it is working on a performance-boosted version of its next-gen Elantra sedan/saloon. There are a few ways this could go.

The likeliest scenario is for the Elantra N Line to get the same powertrain as the current Elantra GT N Line hatchback sold in select countries. The latter is being positioned as the European counterpart of the i30 and comes equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine rated north of 200 hp (150+ kW). The available transmissions include six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT.

Ultimately, a top-spec Elantra N might also come out, with something like a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine with 275 hp (205 kW) at its disposal.

The launch timeframe remains unannounced for the Hyundai Elantra N Line.
