The Hyundai Elantra compact celebrates its 30th birthday this year, so let us throw a glimpse at its past and see how it has aged.
The first Elantra came out back in 1990 powered by a 1.6-liter engine good for 113 hp (84 kW). It has stayed in production for five years until the second generation came with a choice between a 1.6L and a 2.0L engine.
The third iteration of the model saw the daylight in 2000 and split three ways – sedan/saloon, estate/wagon, and hatchback. The fourth one debuted at the New York International Auto Show as a sedan-only model.
The fifth series came out in 2010, bringing along larger body dimensions, and the sixth one followed in 2016 sporting a massive radiator grille. The latest Elantra went on sale this year.
