Following the reveal of the regular Elantra in March last year and its N Line version a few months later, the Korean automaker has now finally introduced the full-fledged N version with launch control, electronic shocks and a differential.
You can tell the new model from its standard counterpart thanks to more aggressively styled bumpers, larger air intakes, a dual-pipe exhaust, red contour lines all around the lower body, 19-inch wheels, a rear diffuser, and a trunk wing.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo rated at 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW), and you can temporarily boost it by another 10 PS (10 hp / 7.5 kW). Available transmissions include eight-speed DCT and six-speed manual. The car needs 5.3 seconds for its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint and maxes out at 250 km/h (155 mph).
The comfort seats inside boast enhanced lateral support, but you can go for bucket seats instead if you prefer. The infotainment system can also record telemetry.
Pre-ordering in South Korea has already started, with the other countries scheduled to receive the 2022 Elantra N sometime before the end of the year.
