Hyundai recreates “driver’s worst nightmare” in a cringeworthy Halloween vid

Hyundai decided to be funny on the All Hallows’ Eve and produced this horror-esque short film juxtaposing imaginary horrors against real ones.

The 90-second long video opens with some stereotypical horror film imagery, showing a woman waking up at night to go to a Halloween party. The issue is, there is a power outage in the house and everything is pitch-dark.

The woman looks for the keys to her Elantra N as the house overfills with all sorts of preternatural horrors, including a doll with a bloodied mouth lying on a chair, a portrait that follows her with its eyes, and so on. She either doesn’t notice them or doesn’t care, though, not even after bumping into a scary masked guy and a woman’s ghost.  She ends up grabbing the keys from the table, walking out of the house and getting into the car.

This is where the jump scare finally happens, as we hear her desperate scream echo through the neighborhood. The camera focuses on the dash and reveals the culprit: the tank is almost empty.
If you were entertained, good for you.
