Hyundai Elantra N gives no quarter to Subaru WRX on the drag strip

Just a little while ago, no one would imagine a Subaru WRX seriously competing against a Hyundai Elantra. Everything changed with the introduction of the Elantra N, a relatively lightweight sedan with 279 PS (275 hp / 205 kW), FWD, and upgraded suspension and steering.

As for the Subaru WRX, it actually lags a little bit behind with its 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW). It also weighs around 90 kilos (200 pounds) more due to being an AWD car, but we would argue that having AWD is a serious advantage in drag racing.

Complicating matters further is the fact that the drag race in the video introduces some unusual rules to the contest. The participants have to cover the quarter-mile (402 meters), brake sharply, turn around, and race back to the start line. Now, which one would you bet on?
