Based on the recently revealed spy photos, Hyundai subdivision Genesis is busy putting its first-ever crossover/SUV model to road trials. Rumor has it the car is going to be called ‘GV80’ and premiere in the coming fall, but there is still no official confirmation on behalf of the manufacturer.
The photos show a vehicle that looks very much like the GV80 Concept it is based on: there is the same radiator grille, bold fender flares and headlights. Unlike the concept, though, the production car will be getting more mundane mirrors instead of side cameras.
Technical data is still unavailable. Industry pros assume that the alleged Genesis GV80 may get AWD and a 3.8-liter V6 gasoline-based engine. Some say the car might end up with a stronger, 5.0-liter V8 or a 3.3-liter turbo unit.
As for the GV80 Concept, it debuted with a hydrogen-cell-based powertrain on board.
