Hyundai buried under 32,000+ Grandeur pre-orders

The South Korean carmaker claims it has received over thirty-two thousand pre-orders for its facelifted executive sedan, the Grandeur 2020.

The model has been considerably redesigned with the emphasis on luxury and is now available in hybrid form. Changes like the revamped hood, the new fenders and bumpers, reshaped highlights and radiator grille with integrated DRLs make it easy to tell from the pre-facelift version.

Inside, the twin 12.3-inch displays fulfilling the roles of the dashboard and the infotainment screen are the main highlight. The climate control unit has also been reworked somewhat, but still sports classical hardware buttons rather than a touch panel.

The new Hyundai Grandeur will be front-drive only, and will initially ship in two main configurations. One will be based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine rated at 194 hp (144 kW), while the other will be a hybrid system between a 190-hp (142-kW) engine and a 52-hp (40-kW) electric motor. Both will be available with six- and eight-speed automatic transmissions.
