South Korean car manufacturer has begun testing the third generation of its i10 hatchback model. Discreet shots of the company’s smallest hatch on offer have been recently made in Sweden. Some industry pros speculate the car may premiere before the end of 2019.
Despite the thick camouflage cladding of the new i10, it isn’t too hard to see that the car retains most of its current design features intact while at the same time becoming considerably larger.
There is no data on engine availability to date. The current Hyundai i10 ships with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine rated at 66 hp (49 kW) or a 1.25-liter one capable of 87 hp (65 kW). Both can work with either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission.
Some experts believe that both engines will continue to be available in the next generation. The company might want to add a hi-end 1.0L turbo engine with 100 hp (75 kW) to the lineup as well.
