The Czech subsidiary of Hyundai has uploaded a video on its website introducing a performance edition of its i30 N hot hatch. Dubbed the Project C and based on the Ultimate trim version of the original, the car will emerge in a series of 600 featuring a carbon body kit along with more engine power.
Based on the video, the newcomer will boast a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine rated at 280 hp (209 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. This is only marginally better than the 275 hp (205 kW) and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of the main series. The acceleration performance remains undisclosed, but the i30 N Ultimate concludes the standard sprint in 6.1 seconds and hits its speed ceiling at 250 km/h (155 mph).
Each car will boast a carbon hood cover and a few other carbon body kit parts. It will also ride on a designer-made set of wheels not available for the regular i30 N.
Interior enhancements will mostly boil down to contrast-stitched seats and red safety harnesses.
